Soto has been a close long-time collaborator of Solange Knowles, Robert Wilson, Zack Winokur, Yuval Sharon, among others, presenting work in renowned venues worldwide (Biennale di Venezia, Théâtre du Châtelet, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Santa Fe Opera, The Guggenheim Museum, Pace Gallery, Teatro Olympic Vicenza, Teatro Grande Pompeii, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Detroit Opera, Théâtre de Champs Elysées, Grand Théâtre de Génève, Dutch National Opera, Opéra de Montpellier, Centre National de la Dance, Gran Teatre del Liceu, among others) for clients ranging from A24 to Nowness to Hermès.
Soto studied art history and literature at the Pratt Institute before withdrawing to embark on a lifetime of practice-based exploration of form and dramaturgy, focusing on an examination of rich, consistent world-building tempered by an economy of line and gesture.
